MOUNTAIN BIKING: Adventist Academy Trail

← ND KNIFE RIVER GOLDEN VALLEY ND Single Tracks →

Description

Start off the trail by going over the fence via ladder bridge. There are several of these scattered throughout the trail for getting over fences and water, and are all walkable or ridable, whatever you're comfortable with. The trail is singletrack through pasture. There are cows but they shouldn't bother you. This trail has nice twists and turns on the sides of hills, and up and down them. Nothing ever gets too steep, although some of the climbs are fairly long, curving around a hill. There are a couple sections going through some trees but are very short. Mostly it's just in open pasture. Although the recommended way is to start by going over the ladder bridge, it is reversible. In my opinion, this is just as difficult mile for mile as sections of the Buffalo Gap (Maah Daah Hey) Trail that I've been on. Bring plenty of water. You probably won't see many other people if at all, so that's a nice bonus also.

Directions

From Bismarck, drive North on 1804 until you get to the 71st Ave NW about 10 or so miles north of Bismarck. Take a left and drive until you find the Adventist Academy entrance. After this you will have to drive just another 1/2 mile down the road until you see a small lot off to the right of the road. You will also see a ladder bridge going over the fence.
